Ok I am going to vent a little. There is a new girl who was hired since I am leaving and I have only talked to her 1 time. So she comes over to me in the break room and starts asking me about the stock. So I answer her questions and afterwards she proceeds to tell me how stupid I am for quitting to stay at home with my little guy. She kept saying how she was older and wiser than me and knows that I shouldnt quit and that when she was young and dumb like me that she wanted to stay at home with her kids too. She then told me that I was stupid to turn down the offer to stay on part time. Since when is my life a new persons business? If I want to and can stay at home why wouldnt I? And what I find ironic is that she wouldnt have a job if it werent for me leaving. Some people need to learn to keep their mouths shut

what an idiot...this is the BEST coice you've ever made, you'll love it always be GRATFUL for the chance to do it, not all moms can :(
Don't listen to her Steph. She's just jealous. I could never think of a better 'paycheck' than smiles and hugs and just being there for your son. I agree... she's an idiot!
She has got some serious balls! Don't you dare let people like her make you feel bad for your decision to raise your son the way you want him to be. Some women just don't get it. They feel that stay at homes have a lesser job than them. It's certainly a million times less glamorous, but it will be so worth it. Like your friend said, not every mom gets to, so you be proud!
what a dumb girl.... its SO great no worrying about work!!
I really hope you told that witch where she could put her opinions. She's probably that stupid because HER mom left her at home alone! ;)
The whole point of equality for women is choice. How one woman wants to manage her family and/or career is up to her, her family and their situation! Plenty of women choose to work, not because they 'have' to. I think it's great that you have the flexibility to do what you really want to--sucks that some people have to assert their opinion all oveer the damn place.
I guess along with the freedom to make choices is the freedom others have to judge the choices we make, eh?
I have awesome sisters, don't I, Steph??? I agree with them 100%. But I can empathize, I remember when I made the choice to stay home and raise my children getting flack from people, yes, even folks I worked with. I've been told that I must be too stupid to do anything other than be a stay at home mom, I've been told I'll probably never get a "decent" job, and I've been called "just" a mom. I can tell you from the other side of child-rearing (the dark side that has teenagers in it), that staying home with your little bug is the best decision and choice you've ever made! I would support you in whatever decision you made though, because it's not my place, or anyone else's, to judge your life.
p.s. Can't wait to see you guys this weekend!
