Kids Baca party

For those of you that dont know Haas is a member of Baca (Bikers against child abuse) and last night was the annual kids party. Baca is contacted when a child in the area has been abused and Baca steps in to "adopt" the children to offer hope, strength, courage, and support for the children. They are there for children who will testify against their abusers and help then to feel safe again in the community. When Baca is contacted 2 members are assigned a child to "adopt" and are their primary contact. For the party we had the children past and present that had been "adopted" by Baca and we took them bowling and had Santa come in for them. We also got a ton of gift donations so that we could make sure that each child got a present for Christmas. Everyone had such a great time at the party and the kids loved seeing Santa.
We were sitting right by Santa and Haas overheard a child ask Santa for a new family that would treat them better. If that isnt heartbreaking I dont know what is. I had already decided to start the process to become a Baca member and as soon as I got home I filled out my application. It will be a long process but Im excited that I will have to opportunity to be there for a child in need and be able to help out in any way that I can.
For privacy purposes we did not take any pictures of the children at the party but I did get some cute pics of Tyson, Emma, and Taylor.
